NFC East Slump: No Division Team Has Won a Game in Two Weeks
Two weeks of winless play across the division has left the standings tight and Monday's matchup between Dallas and Philadelphia a critical opportunity to regain ground.

A historic slump has left the NFC East wide open for teams sitting at 2-4.
The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles meet on Monday night in Philadelphia with both franchises in identical positions. They trail the division-leading New York Giants, who hold a 3-2-1 record. The cause of this parity is unusual: over the past two weeks, every team in the division played twice and none won a game. That marks the first time such a winless stretch has occurred within a single division since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger.
This is how we got here for the Eagles. Philadelphia is riding a four-game losing streak, a slump of that length not seen since 2020. The offense has managed only 58 points across those losses. Quarterback Jalen Hurts is on injured reserve and is expected to miss the rest of the season due to blood clots. Tanner McKee, who spent the first two years of his career as a backup, is now running the offense. He saw limited action after a playoff berth was secured in previous seasons, but the loss to Carolina last week was his first meaningful start. He had two days of first-team practice before that game, though this week he has had over a full week with first-year offensive coordinator Sean Mannion. "I feel like I have a good preparation process," McKee said, noting he plans to work with the coaching staff more rather than prepare alone. The ground game is also in trouble. Saquon Barkley has been sidelined with a hamstring injury, and his backups are hurt as well. Carson Steele was injured against Carolina, leaving Dameon Pierce as the only ball carrier for that game.
The Cowboys face their own difficulties. The defense ranks 30th in the league under first-year coordinator Christian Parker. On offense, Dallas scored 29 points total in their last two losses, including a 23-13 defeat to Green Bay. They have scored fewer than 20 points in consecutive Dak Prescott starts for the first time since 2019. Owner Jerry Jones said at the NFL's annual fall meeting on Wednesday that he does not expect more coaching changes this season, describing the hiring of Mike Pettine as strategic and unique.
Several milestones are approaching. Javonte Williams is the second Cowboys player with seven rushing touchdowns through the first six games, behind Emmitt Smith's totals in 1994 and 1995. CeeDee Lamb has 48 receptions, third in the NFL and the most in franchise history through six games. He is closing in on 8,000 career receiving yards. Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert needs one catch to move into third place on the franchise's career receptions list.
Dallas is favored by 4 points. The Cowboys are 3-3 against the spread and the Eagles 1-5. Dallas leads the all-time series 72-58 and won the last meeting 24-21 on Nov. 23, 2025. Kickoff is at 7:15 p.m. CST on ESPN.
The Eagles play at Washington on Nov. 1, then host the Giants to finish a divisional stretch that will show whether their season can still be saved.
The outcome of this game will determine which team can begin to close the gap on the division-leading Giants. A win would provide a foothold in the race, while a loss would push a team further behind.
